KSRTC Business Class, introduced as the corporation’s “Luxury on Wheels”, is back in the spotlight with a new interstate journey. This time, the premium bus is heading towards Bengaluru, opening another option for travelers who prefer to spend the night on the road rather than lose an entire day to travel. From August 16, 2026, the service will connect Kerala with Bengaluru on alternate days. The journey begins in the evening and ends after sunrise, passing through some of the busiest travel corridors in Kerala and Tamil Nadu before reaching Bengaluru .For passengers, the attraction is not simply getting from one city to another. It is the idea of making a long road journey more luxurious. So, for now, the Bengaluru route is where the Luxury on Wheels story moves next.
KSRTC Business Class Bus: Luxury on Wheels in Kerala
Kerala has no shortage of buses connecting major cities. Yet the Business Class idea was different. Instead of competing only on fares and frequency, KSRTC wanted to bring some of the comforts associated with premium long-distance travel onto its own network.
That idea makes even more sense on an overnight journey. A trip from Kerala to Bengaluru can take most of a day when made by road. The new service turns those travelling hours into the night. Leave in the evening, settle in, and by the time morning arrives, Bengaluru is waiting.
The route itself is familiar to anyone who regularly travels between Kerala and Bengaluru. From the Kerala side, the bus passes through Vyttila, Thrissur and Palakkad before continuing towards Coimbatore and Salem. Hosur is the final major stop before Bengaluru.

KSRTC Business Class Fare: Starting at ₹1,354
For a service positioned as a premium travel option, the fare will naturally be one of the first things passengers compare. The starting KSRTC Business Class fare is ₹1,354 for the Alappuzha–Bengaluru journey. The return journey starts at the same price. But there is a little more to the number.KSRTC is using dynamic pricing, so the fare can move according to demand and seat availability. A ticket that starts at ₹1,354 can therefore cost more when demand increases. The fare can go up to around ₹1,800.For travellers who have fixed dates, checking early may be worthwhile.
Business Class Bus Features and Amenities
The name Luxury on Wheels naturally raises expectations. The Business Class buses were introduced as a more premium alternative to conventional long-distance services. Reports about the buses have highlighted features such as Wi-Fi, charging facilities and entertainment systems. A pantry and washroom have also been reported among the planned facilities. The buses are based on premium Volvo coaches. On a short journey, such features can feel like an added luxury.A charging point matters when your phone needs to survive until morning. Comfortable seating matters when you are trying to sleep. And onboard facilities become particularly useful when the journey stretches beyond twelve hours.
Earlier Plan and Latest Route Changes
The Business Class story does not end with Bengaluru. In fact, the original rollout looked different. KSRTC had planned to begin the Thiruvananthapuram–Ernakulam Business Class service on August 13. That launch has now been postponed. The corporation has not announced a revised date yet.For anyone who came across the earlier August 13 announcement, this is an important update. The old date should not be used for planning the Thiruvananthapuram–Ernakulam journey.

How to Book KSRTC Business Class Tickets Online
The easiest way to check the current availability is through the official KSRTC booking system.
Book through the official KSRTC online booking portal
The portal lets passengers check the available travel dates, seats and current fare. That is particularly useful for this service because it operates on alternate days and follows dynamic pricing.
The Ente KSRTC Neo-OPRS mobile app is another booking option. Before heading to the boarding point, it is worth checking the booking details again. Bus schedules can change, and the actual journey can also take longer than the scheduled time.
Is KSRTC Business Class Worth the Fare?
That may be the more interesting question behind this latest service.KSRTC operates one of India’s most recognisable public bus networks. Its strength has traditionally been its reach and accessibility. The Business Class project tries something different. It asks whether a state transport corporation can offer a premium experience while still retaining the convenience of a large public network. The Alappuzha–Bengaluru route is a useful test for that idea. There is already strong demand between Kerala and Bengaluru. There are also plenty of competing private buses. So passengers will have choices. The ₹1,354 starting efare puts the Business Class service into an interesting space. It is not positioned as the cheapest way to reach Bengaluru. Instead, it sells the journey itself as part of the experience. And that is probably what KSRTC needs if its Luxury on Wheels concept is going to succeed.
KSRTC Business Class Bengaluru Service Starts August 16
For now, there is one date that matters.August 16, 2026.That is when the new KSRTC Business Class service begins its journey towards Bengaluru. The bus will leave Kerala in the evening, cross through Tamil Nadu during the night and reach Bengaluru shortly after sunrise. The starting fare is ₹1,354. Meanwhile, the Thiruvananthapuram–Ernakulam service will have to wait for another date. For travellers, the new Bengaluru service offers something simple but valuable: a chance to turn a long day on the road into a night of travel. And if KSRTC can deliver the comfort promised by its Luxury on Wheels concept, this could be more than just another bus route.
It could be a new way of looking at long-distance bus travel in Kerala.
