I didn’t have an IT background, coding experience, or even a laptop to type on. What I was left with, though, was something far more powerful: an unstoppable passion for travel and a burning desire to write.
Today, looking at this beautiful, bilingual travel platform, it feels surreal to see how far a simple dream can travel when you pour your heart into it.
Building from the Ground Up
When I decided to launch this site, the learning curve was steep. Without a tech background, I turned to Google and YouTube as my classrooms. I spent countless hours staring at my mobile phone screen, learning how to build a website from scratch. Every single layout, setting, and design detail was figured out step-by-step, right from my phone keypad.
To make the journeys accessible to everyone, I wanted the site to be bilingual. Using Polylang, I curated content for both a global audience in English and my roots in Malayalam. Today, we have 42 articles live on the site—each carefully researched, written, and published in both languages, all created entirely on that same mobile device.
